Win Win!!

5 12 2011

Well… as we wrap-up another weekend and begin to embark on another week it is a time for reflection and a time for processing of what has happened this weekend. Friday was not my greatest day and I honestly thought about just throwing in the towel and calling the job done, but I made it through and Saturday and Sunday were amazing. The Bobcats won their game on Saturday moving to the Quarterfinals in Texas against Sam Houston State in the FCS Championship!! As I sat and watched the game and saw all of the people at the stadium I couldn’t help it but to think about all of the people that were at the stadium just 2 weeks prior. I really began to see what kind of fan base we truly have in watching and supporting the Bobcats!! It was also impressive to me how a smaller crowd could have such a big and important impact on the outcome of the game with the cheering and crowd strength that was there. It was truly one of the most memorable games I have watched in person at a college stadium. Saturday night and Sunday was just nice to relax, close my door a little and just relax on my own and get some laundry done and just reenergize my “batteries”.

I have to say though as I watched a lot of christmas movies and just relaxed that for some reason I just am not feeling the christmas bug this year and I’m not sure why. I don’t know whether it’s because I’m so tired or I’m just exhausted from work, but I just have no energy to do the shopping, no energy to put up the Christmas Tree and I just haven’t even realized that Christmas is about 3 weeks away. I’m looking forward to going home, but I am still trying to figure out when I am going to get the bug and get going on shopping and a little decorating… oh well… hopefully it comes soon!!!

To all… have a great Monday and a great week!!!

Life is funny sometimes…

28 11 2011

Tonight I was frustrated after a staff meeting and I just needed to get some things off my chest with my best friend and the conversation turned into one of the most in depth conversations that we have had in a long time and it was one of the most refreshing things I’ve done or said to a friend in a long time that I am so relieved and satisfied that we had the talk. I’ve been meaning to have this discussion with him for 6+ months now and finally worked up the courage and strength to say things that I’ve needed to say in a very positive manner, just needed to have that heart to heart and it went WAY better than I expected. I think that in a way it was one of those healing moments and therapeutic moments for me that I can’t even imagine having a best friend as good as him. Sometimes life is difficult to understand, sometimes it’s hard to believe, but sometimes some of the most cherished moments are those that are spent with those that you love and that mean something special in your life.

I’M BACK!! :-)

27 06 2009

Hey all… so it’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything to my blog… pretty much just have forgotten about it… I know I know bad of me to forget about my blog, but I figured that today I would update folks on life and what’s been happening.  I just got back this past week from a trip home to Indy for 6 days and was able to spend some time with my family.  Was able to spend time with my sisters and their boyfriends (well at least the next round of boyfriends).  They both asked me what I thought of their boyfriends, my response was “I give it the 6-month test, if they’re still around in 6 months then I’ll begin to realize that I probably should start to get to know them.”  I’m sure that’s bad or that it is not the most supportive part of life, but honestly I’ve been through more boyfriends than I care to remember or think about.

Other than that life is good, just been hanging out in Bozeman for the summer working on projects for the next year and the training portion of my job for our professional staff.  I’m pretty addicted to The Bachelorette, So You Think You Can Dance and The Wedding Day… um yea reality junky… If I didn’t have my Tivo I’m not sure what life would be like.  I’ve also enjoyed having some down time this summer to try and keep in touch with friends (especially those in Kansas) who I haven’t really chatted with.  Also starting to realize that if I’m going to move into a house when I finish here at MSU that I probably should start saving money :-)

I think that’s all, I’m headed to Boston for the 4th of July to celebrate with some friends and just enjoy my last vacation for awhile.  I leave Thursday and return on Monday and then have 1 week and then I’m into training for the fall.  Then my life is gone and training is my life until the first week of September :-) YAY!!! :-D … alright well I think that’s all with life… questions just ask :-)

2 Men Plead Guilty to Eating Family’s Pet Dog

Thursday, May 07, 2009

Two Hawaiian men pleaded guilty Wednesday to first degree animal-cruelty charges after they allegedly stole an 8-month-old puppy, took it home and butchered it, the Honolulu Advertiser reported.

In exchange for their guilty plea, police dismissed a second charge of theft against Saturnino Palting, 48, and Nelson Domingo, 49, the newspaper reported.

The pair allegedly stole the puppy, named Caddy, from the Moanalu Golf Course in December 2007, where the leashed dog was left near an equipment shack by it’s owner, the Advertiser reported.

Palting and Domingo were employed by the golf course as groundskeepers.

Snow

23 04 2009

Alright… so this morning I woke up and it was slightly overcast… I now look out my window and there is about 3 inches of snow on the ground… heavy snow falling and the expectation that we’re going to get 6-9 inches of snow when this is all said and done. I wore shorts hoping that on my one day this week that I didn’t have to dress up for work or meetings that I could actually maybe enjoy the weather, yet to my best tries it is now snowing. May I also say I’m going to a camp for our RA selection this weekend and it’s up in the mountains… GET READY FOR FUN… Someone please remind me why I chose to live in Montana?!?!

Study says Facebook can impact studies – UPI.com

13 04 2009

Ok… so here is an article with EXTREME intelligence… I mean any individual with 1/2 a brain that works around college students or knows college students should be able to tell you this without having to conduct a research… oh I don’t know if I gained brain cells or lost them, but this is ridiculous…

COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 12 (UPI) — U.S. college students who routinely use the social networking Web site Facebook typically have lower grade-point averages than those who do not, a study says.

Researcher Aryn Karpinski of Ohio State University’s education department said surveys completed by 219 U.S. undergraduates and graduates found that those who used Facebook achieved lower grades, The Sunday Times of London reported.

“Our study shows people who spend more time on Facebook spend less time studying,” Karpinski said. “Every generation has its distractions, but I think Facebook is a unique phenomenon. It is the equivalent of the difference between getting an A and a B.”

Facebook allows users to chat, take quizzes, post comments and search for new or old friends.

Karpinski also found that 79 percent of study respondents who admitted to Facebook usage felt such online activities did not impact their studies, The Times said.

No margin of error was given for Karpinski’s study.

All I have to say to this is… sorry, but when you jump in an enclosed cage for animals at the zoo you should know that you’re bound for injury or death.  She is damn lucky that she is still alive and hopefully will be held accountable for her foolish decision.  Thank God she is alive, but very stupid decision to jump in during feeding time!!!

Well… it’s official… the dog is coming and will be presented on Tuesday.  The media can now calm down and relax… it’s all over and soon we’ll be able to see the dog in real life on the South Lawn of the White House.  It’s a cute little thing… not sure how much I would enjoy it, but it’s cute.
